Amina, Krystian and Qali are approaching eighteen. Their lives resist easy comparison, yet each is already being shaped by experiences that may stay with them far beyond this threshold.
For the filmmaker, this age carries a personal weight: at seventeen, she left Ukraine to study in Poland, experiencing the departure as freedom. More than a decade later, after years spent between countries and languages — not always by her own choice — she returns to that threshold through three young people who live very different lives in Iceland, where she now lives, and Ukraine, each wrestling with the same existential question of what it means to belong.
