A remarkable never seen before video memoir from the late mayor of East Jerusalem Ruhi Al Khatib (1957 - 1967) who narrates the resistance, struggle and strife of the Palestinian people under his leadership to keep East Jerusalem under Palestinian sovereignty. The film spans the nineteen years of history between the ‘Nakba’ and the ‘Naksa’ (1948 – 1967), narrated through the memoirs of the resourceful entrepreneur and leader Ruhi Al Khatib, and takes you on a journey of leadership, resilience, and humanity, which is nothing short of exhilarating and moving.

‘Memoirs of Jerusalem’ creates a window into the past pieced together using exclusive footage from Mr. Al Khatib's video memoir. The film recreates animated events that reverberate in today’s political climate.
