Of Graves and Gallows is an innovative documentary mini-series blending true crime and history. Each film reopens a notorious case involving a woman whose story was shaped by accusation, myth, and public spectacle.

Set between the 17th and 19th centuries in Austria and Hungary, the series revisits three chilling stories: Elisabeth Báthory, whose alleged crimes would later feed centuries of vampiric fantasy; Mary Vetsera, whose death alongside the Habsburg Crown Prince was overshadowed by the influence of the powerful; and Theresia Kandl, a woman to be publicly hanged, condemned after a confession shaped by pressure.

By reframing these cases through modern historical scrutiny, the series restores complexity to women reduced to monsters, victims, or footnotes - and reveals how power, gender, and justice shaped their fates.
