CPH:CONFERENCE 2023 - Future at Our Fingertips a big success

Oscar winning filmmakers Asif Kapadia (“Amy”) and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi (“Free Solo”), Oscar nominees Maite Alberdi (“The Mole Agent”) and Jessica Kingdon (“Ascension”), Emmy nominee Jialing Zhang (“One Child Nation”) and Sundace winner Anna Hints ("Smoke Sauna Sisterhood") were among the impressive lineup of speakers during the morning sessions which were dedicated to the art and craft of filmmaking. The industry sessions in the afternoons unlocked the currently available resources, possible solutions and transformative potential of the industry. CPH:CONFERENCE culminated on Friday which was dedicated to the role of film and filmmakers in society. After the touching opening keynote speech by Inuit activist Aaju Peter, filmmakers such as Margreth Olin, Elwira Niewiera and Nanfu Wang among others joined discussions moderated by Anadil Hossain. The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk joined the panel on the Ukrainian War Archive, the initiative set to gather evidence for future investigation and understanding of war crimes in Ukraine.
