This film tells the story of a wild idea, an exciting excursion down a blind alley. Back in 1925, German engineer and architect Hermann Sörgel had a vision to save post-war Europe from its crises. He proposed a grandiose technical plan which was to solve the great problems of over-population, hunger and energy shortages. He needed the support of politicians, press and industry. And he got it.
