Maia Liddell
Maia Liddell has over 25 years’ experience working in television. As Head of Popular Factual at RDF Television she was responsible for securing millions of pounds worth of commissions across the documentary and factual entertainment slate. She developed and Executive Produced the Grierson-nominated ground-breaking documentary Disability & Abortion: The Hardest Choice for Channel 4 - a challenging, provocative and surprisingly uplifting look at whether the UK abortion laws discriminate against disabled people. In her early career she cut her teeth on a series of testimony films, becoming a go-to director for documentaries telling the stories of the second world war through those who lived it, and bringing their extraordinary experiences to a mainstream audience. This led to further documentaries celebrating some of the UK’s most characterful, and elderly, residents in the critically acclaimed 100-Year-Old Drivers series. She has also developed, and Executive produced a range of factual entertainment formats including The Secret Life of 4& 5 Year Olds, Lodgers for Codgers and the soon to be released No Strings Attached, an erotic celebrity puppet show. Most recently she was showrunner on the global smash hit documentary series F1: Drive to Survive for Netflix.
