With nearly a decade of experience in the freelance sector, Dean has established himself as a highly motivated, collaborative, and versatile creative professional. He has directed campaigns for brands and organisations such as Adidas, BBC, BMW, Budweiser, Channel 4, Formula 1, the International Olympic Committee, LEGO, NBA, Miller, Timberland, Virgin, WWF, and Xbox. Dean focuses on cultural narratives that serve as gateways to intimate, character-driven stories, exploring profound themes with universal resonance.

In 2024 and 2025 respectively, The Cheeky Controller created for the Xbox and Marvel collaboration around the Deadpool & Wolverine movie won a D&AD Wooden Pencil, two Cannes Lions In 2024, my charity film A Brief History in Five Parts for Synergy Theatre Company won the GOLD Judges’ Award for Best Film at the Smiley Charity Film Awards and received three awards at the Creative Circle Awards

In 2019, Dean was commissioned by TOPIC to direct the pilot episode of his documentary series “Over My Dead Hobby” exploring the world of niche magazines that support obscure hobbies. In 2018, Dean directed the interactive documentary “Change Gout” that won two Cannes Lion Pharma and two Health Clios awards.
