Christine Zhou

Christine Zhou is a Chinese-Canadian living in the UK, fluent in English and Mandarin. She earned her degrees in Advanced Music Performance from Concordia University in Montreal and completed her Filmmaking Certificate at the National Film and Television School in 2022.

In 2025, she received her second Master’s degree in Music Composition for Film and Television from the University of Bristol.

From 2008 to 2021, Christine held various positions at International Channel Shanghai, including director, writer, reporter, presenter, voice-over artist, and video editor. She also worked as an online TV anchor for Asia Times Financial. Additionally, Christine served as a line producer and music director for documentaries and worked as a submission coordinator for the New Beijing Movie Festival.

Recently she has finished her first artist residency at Opera North Leeds. Her work blends music and documentary to explore memory, identity, and cultural complexity, driven by a desire to connect past and present through creative storytelling.
