Transit Forever
TRANSIT FOREVER follows three young Moroccan people over several years, observing their lives lived in illegality in Europe.
Imad (21) managed to reach Europe at the age of 13, hidden under a truck, driven by the dream of rescuing his mother from the hands of his violent father. He is now about to move to Germany to pursue a modeling career and prepare for the entrance exam at the acting school in Ludwigsburg.
Mohammed (20) swam across the Mediterranean, filming himself live for Facebook – the viral video ended up saving his life. Since then, he has been traveling through Europe without papers as a socalled Harraga influencer, hiding in trains and trucks. Harraga means “those who burn their lives.”
Laila (18) lived for years disguised as a boy in the caves of Melilla. Now she hopes for a new life in Germany, but since turning 18, things have become more difficult: she finds advice and a place to sleep at Munich’s Café 104, yet access to education and medical care remains denied to her.
