Leila Monks is a hands-on Executive Producer and Creative Dealmaker specialising in high-profile, high-impact non-scripted storytelling. Proven track record in originating ideas, securing commissions, distribution and producing critically acclaimed content that drives change.
She has secured funding for and worked across a variety of formats including feature documentaries, Jackson Wild winning and EMMY, RTS nominated “Silverback” for BBC and France Television, broadcast films “Olly Alexander: Growing up Gay” for BBC, digital series and made for mobile shorts “I Want to Get Better with Jameela Jamil” for SNAP ORIGINALS, nominated for “Best Social Series” at Edinburgh TV and social impact films, launch film for HRH Prince William’s Homewards programme.
Due to the high impact nature of her work, content she has helped create has been screened at festivals, events, landmarks (including Picadilly Lights, The Eden Project) and UK Parliament.
She currently leads premium content for The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales, with recent credits including “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness" (ITV/Disney+) and “GUARDIANS” (BBC Earth/YouTube, 15 million views across social media).
She was previously Head of Originals + at Academy and BAFTA Award winning production company Off the Fence, where she steered their push into the premium factual space, collaborating with partners including James Cameron, YouTube, The Vatican and ZDF.
Prior to that, she founded her own production company Antidote, which produced twenty-two hours of content in four years including multi-award winning “Professor Green: Suicide and Me.” (BBC) and “YouTube Revolution” for Nat Geo Global.
