Oscar-winning Alex Gibney to Open CPH:CONFERENCE
We're thrilled to announce the full CPH:CONFERENCE 2024 programme, revealing a new redefined 5-day format with a star-studded lineup of guests, keynote speakers, and visionaries.
Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Taxi to the Dark Side) will speak at MORNINGS WITH FILMMAKERS, alongside Johan Grimonprez (Dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y) and Asmae El Moudir (The Mother of All Lies). Later in the programme, keynotes will be delivered by Lizzie Gillett (McQueen, Rising Phoenix), Sigrid Dyekjær (The Cave), scholar and critic Erika Balsom, and Lisa Jackson (National Screen Institute’s Aboriginal Documentary Program).
The programme kicks off with OUR DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, launching the Independence Project, an initiative from the DISCO Network. This field-wide project aims to articulate the unique importance of independent documentary to culture, society and democracy.
Concluding CPH:CONFERENCE is CLIMATE STORY LAB NORDIC, a curated day of conversations about climate storytelling and strategic audience engagement featuring industry authorities like Phie Ambo, Shanida Scotland, Per Grankvist and Hazel Falk.
