Masterschool Project Now Available to Watch Online
Masterschool 2021 project Luna und die Gerechtigkeit - Syrische Staatsfolter vor Gericht in Deutschland (previously titled The Journalist and the Jailer) is now available to watch online via German broadcasting network ARD! Our congrats to Masterschool alumni Adithya Sambamurthy and the whole filmmaking team.
The film was awarded the ARD-Dokumentarfilm-Wettbewerb, a prestigious public television prize which included production costs of up to €250,000, as well as a broadcasting slot on German public television.
The film chronicals Luna Watfa, a Syrian journalist living as a refugee in Koblenz, Germany, as she reports on the men who are alleged to have overseen her detention and torture, at the world’s first trial against members of Bashar al-Assad's regime, for crimes against humanity. A hard-hitting and heartwarming account of justice, truth and accountability, Luna und die Gerechtigkeit is a must watch.
