  • Peter Hayden, Latitude Productions, New Zealand / UK
  • Heiner Stadler, Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen, Germany
  • Lucia-Milena Bonse, Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen, Germany

Documentary in Germany is alive and well but very few will ever be able to earn a living from making the films they really want to make! The formatting of documentary on TV has brought the desires of film makers into conflict with the reality of programming needs. Yet, without television, most documentaries would never be made. A global broadcaster, a Professor from HFF and a Documentary student must come up with solutions to the paradox. Is there a place for a reality check through training? Can it be achieved without the burden of broken dreams?
