Presentation of Documentary Slots and Programme Initiatives.

Peter Dale, More4, Great Britain
Peter Dale was the head of documentaries at Channel 4 for seven years before he took over as More4's director. Two current productions are going to be presented at Leipzig Masters: the new documentary film "My Enemy's Enemy" (by Oscar-winner Kevin Macdonald) and the documentary film "Thriller in Manila", which was developed by Darlow Smithson.

The Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program offers a whole range of initiatives for the documentary community such as the Sundance Documentary Fund, the annual Documentary Edit and Story Laboratory, the annual Documentary Composers Laboratory, the House of Docs programming at the Filmmaker Lodge at the Sundance Film Festival, and ongoing, year-round support for documentary filmmakers.

Tom Perlmutter, National Filmboard of Canada, Canada
Throughout his career as a filmmaker, writer and producer, Tom Perlmutter has been a fervent advocate of groundbreaking and socially engaged independent cinema. Since joining the NFB, Tom Perlmutter has been an ambassador on the national and international level. He has notably revitalized documentary and animation programming, forged critical ties with important partners abroad and provided greater accessibility to up-and-coming filmmakers and those from cultural minorities.
An event organised by Discovery Campus e.V. and DOK Leipzig with support of the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, the Saxonian State Chancellery, the Minister of State in the Federal Chancellery and Commissioner for Cultural and Media Affairs and MEDIA Programme of the European Union.
