How to get there

By plane: Lot’s of international airlines such as Air France, Austrian Airlines, Germanwings, Lufthansa, KLM, Ryanair offer direct flights to Leipzig/Halle sometimes called Schkeuditz Airport, which is 22 kilometres northwest of central Leipzig. The airport is the second biggest airport in Eastern Germany after Berlin. Trains run between the airport and the city every 30 minutes; the trip takes 14 minutes.

A convenient alternative is flying into Berlin and catching the train to Leipzig. Trains depart every hour from Berlin Main Train Station and take you to Leipzig within 60 minutes. For info see below.

By car: Leipzig can easily be reached by car, as it is very well connected with the Autobahn highway system. The nearest Autobahn highways are A14 (North, Northeast), A9 (West) and A38 (South).

By train: Leipzig's Hauptbahnhof is the largest terminal railway station in Europe with 26 platforms. There are two main companies travelling to Leipzig:

Deutsche Bahn: operates regular train service between Leipzig and nearby cities.

Inter Connex: offers a daily service from Leipzig to Rostock via Berlin and back. You can buy your ticket in advance or on the train directly.

Get around in Leipzig: Find the best connections from the station to your hotel or from the venue to the party by using public transport. Have a look at: www.lvb.de
