Final Pitching 2009

The Art of Pitching

Documentary Campus invites you to The Art of Pitching which takes place on 24 & 25 October 2009 in Leipzig. The 16 participants of this year’s Masterschool will pitch their well developed documentary projects for an international audience to up to 50 international commissioning editors and distributors. Furthermore we offer you an attractive afternoon programme on Saturday and a Special Film Screening on Sunday.

REGISTRATION AS OBSERVER:
Interested producers, authors, directors and commissioning editors are invited to register for the Pitching Session as observers. By listening to the pitches and reactions of the decision makers, observers learn more about the slots, profiles and programming requirements of the broadcasters, and will get a good insight into the trends of the international non-fiction market. Registration for observers ends on 19 October 2009. Register here

2. Leipzig Forum on Innovative Non-Fiction TV – the future of ARTE 29 October 2009, 15:00 – 17:30

The Leipzig Forum on Innovative Non-fiction Television is where Documentary Campus and DOK Leipzig present innovative programming initiatives, documentary slots and attractive funding programmes from all over the world and shows selected works that stand for new developments and trends in the international documentary film industry. This year, our focus will be on the restructuring of a television broadcaster whose name is closely associated with creative and ambitious documentary films and and highly respected for this far beyond the borders of Europe: ARTE.

Dr. Christoph Hauser, Director of Programming of ARTE G.E.I.E., and the editorial directors Olaf Grunert, Kornelia Theune and Annie Battaillard will spend an afternoon presenting the 2010 programme schedule, the profiles of new documentary slots and their long-term strategies to lead their network into the future. The Leipzig Forum promises to offer insightful background information and animated discussions about the profile and focus of the German-French cultural channel that is, and will hopefully stay, unrivalled as the flagship of creative non-fiction films.

Moderated by Christian Beetz, Gebrüder Beetz Filmproduktion and Claas Danielsen, festival director of DOK Leipzig.

Venue: Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig, Grimmaische Str. 6, 04109 Leipzig
