Broadcast Premiere of The Final Battle on ARTE
The Final Battle - Christian Fundamentalists in the USA by director Claudia Willke and producer Ulli Pfau is the first finished film coming out of the Discovery Campus Masterschool 2006. The broadcast premiere of this doc about the influence of Christian fundamentalists on the cultural and political climate in America is scheduled for 24 May (6.05 pm on ARTE).
The film illustrates how Christian fundamentalists in the USA have organized themselves strategically to network and cooperate on all levels of society. A new elite is in training to take over key positions in the educational, legal and political field. Based on Christian values, power, media and money, there is a “spiritual war” going on, with the goal to build a Christian nation governed by biblical law.
The Final Battle is an EIKON Media and epo Film co-production with ZDF in collaboration with ARTE. It was developed with the support of the Media programme of the European Union and Evangelische Kirche Deutschland. Additional funding was provided by Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein.
