Danielsen to become Director of Leipzig Doc Festival
Discovery Campus' Head of Studies Claas Danielsen has been appointed director of the Leipzig International Festival for Documentary and Animated Films. He will take up his new responsibility in April 2004, but stay involved with Discovery Campus and the Masterschool on a part-time basis. The former project manager Donata von Oppen will now oversee the organisation and financing of the activities as Director Munich Office. Claas Danielsen will continue to be in charge of content as Head of Studies.
In his new position Danielsen will create synergies between Discovery Campus and the festival by organising training activities in Leipzig in conjunction with this biggest German Documentary Film Festival.
Discovery Campus has been present in Leipzig with public symposia since its inception. The annual Pitching Session of the Discovery Campus Masterschool organised in Leipzig in collaboration with the public broadcaster MDR has become one of the highest quality pitching sessions of its kind in Europe.
