Nominated for an Oscar: Rabbit à la Berlin

The 2010 Academy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday, 2 February 2010, and Documentary Campus is thrilled to see that Rabbit à la Berlin, a film developed at the Masterschool 2006 by Bartek Konopka, Piotr Rosolowski and Anna Wydra, is among this year’s Oscar nominees! The Academy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, 7 March 2010, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. Rabbit à la Berlin will compete in the Documentary Short Subject category. Congratulations!

The film, a Polish-German coproduction of Anna Wydra MS Films, Telewizja Polska and ma.ja.de Filmproduktion, MDR, RBB in association with ARTE, YLE, Lichtpunt, VPRO, tells the story of the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall through the perspective of the rabbits trapped between the walls as they face entrapment, adjustment, and eventual freedom and all of the other trials of being an ordinary rabbit caught between two conflicting ideologies.
