Screening of Zanzibar Musical Club in Istanbul and Dubai
Documentary Campus is proud to announce that Zanzibar Musical Club (France 2009 | 85’) developed at the Masterschool 2006 by Patrice Nezan celebrated its world premiere on 2 November 2009 at the Festival Dei Popoli in Firenze, in the Official Section: Free Style.
Zanzibar Musical Club is also selected at the International 1001 Documentary Film Festival which will take place in Istanbul from 4-11 December 2009 and at the Dubaï International Film Festival which will be held from 9-17 December 2009.
Synopsis: A travel film less about a change of setting, flitting past the audience’s eyes, and more about the sounds, the many kinds of music that pass through the Zanzibar Musical Club. Here, men and women meet, united by their passion for an ancient music, music of multiple forms, whose ancient roots go back to Indian, Arab, European and African culture. Faces and sounds follow one another in a musical trip that is ancient and modern at the same time.
