Radio Broadcast: Women in the Madrassa on 30 August
Masterschool alumni Rosa Rogers and Hilary Durman (DCM 2008) have been working on their DCM documentary project (for radio and TV) about the world's first official female Muslim leaders - 'morchidat' - in Morocco. These women are setting out to transform their country, teaching an Islam based on tolerance, peace and equality to communities across Morocco.
Documentary Campus is happy to announce that the radio doc Women in the Madrassa will be broadcast globally this Sunday, 30 August at 11.30 AM UK time (10.30 GMT) on BBC World Service. Please tune in over Sunday brunch!
The World Service is available on digital radio, Freeview TV, or analogue radio MW 648 in the UK. Additionally, you can also listen to it on the BBC World Service Website
The film project Casablanca Calling is still in development. But it has been selected for this year's BritDoc Good Pitch, which brings together potential funders with journalists, NGO's, individuals and organizations with an interest in the film who Rosa and Hilary hope to work with to develop the outreach strategy for the film and to maximize its social impact.
