Emmy Nomination for „Birth of a Surgeon“ by DCM Alumni Karin Falck & Loui Bernal
Documentary Campus is proud to announce that Birth of a Surgeon, developed at the Masterschool 2006 by Karin C. Falk and Loui Bernal, is among the nominees for the 30th Annual News and Documentary Emmy® Awards which will be presented on Monday, September 21 at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located in the Time Warner Center in New York City. The event will be attended by more than 1000 television and new media industry executives, news and documentary producers and journalists. The Emmy® Awards will be presented in 33 categories, Birth of a Surgeon will compete in the category of Outstanding Coverage of a News Story – Long Form.
The documentary Birth of a Surgeon travels to Mozambique where, for the first time, midwives are being trained to perform Cesarean sections and other life-saving surgery, significantly reducing the country’s maternal mortality rate.
