Name:Luigi BerardiCompany:Soul Rebel FilmsPlace:London, United KingdomNationality:ItalianProject:TraffickedGenre:Text:
Every day in India, young people are lured away from their homes by criminal trafficking networks. In the hands of traffickers, many children end up abused in brothels or destitute on the streets, living on the margins of society. “Trafficked” is inspired by the work of “Odanadi”, an NGO based in Mysore, India, who rescue victims of trafficking and reintegrate them into society. Over the past 20 years this organization has rescued more than 2,000 individuals, carried out more than 57 brothel raids and brought more than 137 traffickers to justice. “Trafficked” looks at how a set of individuals bring about justice in the seedy underworld of human trafficking and what happens to the victims who are rescued. This film will not be a promotional or campaign film about the NGO, but uses our existing relationship to secure access for an actuality and character driven film.

This story is about a national obsession related to the SUNEUNG exam, the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) in Korea. For 35 days before the entrance exam, about 400 high school teachers and professors are isolated in a secret mansion surrounded by police to prepare and review questions for this test. This is the only way to keep the national test objective and fair. As Steven and Wooyoung are also trapped with examiners, they observe exactly why the Korean Education Ministry use such secrecy, what the test means to the Korean people, and what kinds of problems arise in this education.

Name:Philipp EndersCompany:Doberenz & Enders GbRPlace:Cologne, GermanyNationality:Project:MammonGenre:Text:
Timon is in trouble; he has lost almost all his savings. “During the financial crisis in 2008 the people have lost their belief in the system, consequently the system simply collapsed.” – at least, that is what Timon´s bank advisor says. Until then, Timon had not known that “the system” was depending on belief. He once heard that God only exists if you believe in him. Though Timon was baptised Roman Catholic and raised that way, this saying seemed less and less absurd as he became older. But what about the money – about mammon, the filthy lucre? Maybe it is just the same, maybe capitalism is “just” a religion, too?

Name:Eike GoreczkaCompany:42FilmPlace:Halle, GermanyNationality:Project:Eugenic MindsGenre:Text:
Eugenic Minds was once considered more groundbreaking than the invention of the wheel. It was supposed to save mankind from serious genetic loads. After World War II, the term of eugenics almost disappeared from the world’s dictionaries. The science had been misused by the ideology for the selective criteria of a perfect nation. The “wrong ones” were liquidated or deprived of their rights for existence in their own space. However, it was not the politicians but the scientist who determined the criteria. The unique archive material produced by the ideology of better tomorrows will be used to create a fantastic vision of the future which had turned into mass murder. The film aspires to become a timeless and popular reflection on the boundaries between science and pseudoscience in the present day, in the past and in the future.
