About the Programme
What is Crossing Borders?
Together with the European Documentary Network, we have been running the Crossing Borders programme since 2010. Crossing Borders is a programme for documentary professionals in Europe and Asia looking to access the international non-fiction market. The programme has so far taken place in China (2010), Malaysia (2011 & 2013), South Korea (2012) and Indonesia (2015).
Crossing Borders 2016 will take place in partnership with BCPF – The Broadcasting Content Promotion Foundation.
How it works…
Each year Crossing Borders invites filmmakers from Europe and Asia to submit their project ideas. Selected participants then attend workshops that offer insight into the whole process of setting up an international co-production and cover topics, such as: how to develop your story, access the international market, pitch your project and distribute your finished film.
Crossing Borders 2016 includes:
▪ 15-20 JULY | South Korea
Project development workshop in conjunction with BCPF‘s renowned Docu Clinic
▪ SEPTEMBER | Online
Consultation sessions (story development, trailers)
▪ 25-30 OCTOBER | Leipzig, Germany
Pitch training workshop and presentation to international financiers
The language of the workshop is English and all applications must be in English.
