As far as a legal basis is mentioned in this Privacy Policy, they relate to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We collect and process personal data based on the following statutory regulations:

Consent according to Article 6 par. 1 (a) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Consent is any voluntary expression of intent, in an informed and unequivocal manner, in the form of a statement or other unambiguous confirmatory act, which indicates that the data subject consents to the processing of his personal data.
Necessity to fulfill the contract or carry out preparatory actions in accordance with Article 6 par. 1 (b) GDPR, this means that the data is required so that we can fulfill the contractual obligations to you or we need the data to prepare a contract closure with you.
Processing to fulfill legal obligations under Article 6 par. 1 (c) GDPR, this means that a processing of the data is required by law or other regulations.
Processing for the protection of legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR, this means that processing is necessary to safeguard legitimate interests on our part or by third parties, unless the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms on your part that require the protection of personal data prevail.

Data Erasure and Storage Duration
The personal data of the data subject will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage is deleted. In addition, storage may take place if provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other regulations to which the processor is subject. Visiting the Website

The data is stored in the log files of our hosting provider. This data is not stored or processed together with other personal data of the user. We have commissioned Host Europe GmbH, Hansestrasse 111, 51149 Köln (hereinafter: Host Europe) as our external hosting provider.

The legal basis for processing the data is Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR lies in the functionality of our website and its availability.

The legal basis for the transfer of data to Host Europe is Art. 28 par. 3. A respective contract regarding the processing of data has been concluded with Host Europe.

(c) Purpose of data processing
The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to allow the delivery of the website to the computer of the user. To do this, the user's IP address must be kept for the duration of the session.

The data is stored in order to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, the data is used to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of the data for marketing purposes does not take place in this context.

(d) Duration of storage
The logfiles will be deleted after 14 days the latest, unless there is a need to keep the data for the aforementioned purpose due to specific events.

The legal basis for processing the data is Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR lies in the possibility to respond to requests of members and third parties.

If the request via e-mail concerns the performance of a contract or the step prior to entering into a contract, then legal basis for the processing of data is Art. 6 par. 1 (b) GDPR as well.

The legal basis for the transfer of data to Host Europe is Art. 28 par. 3. A respective contract regarding the processing of data has been concluded with Host Europe.

(c) Purpose of data processing
Purpose of the data processing is making contact to you due to your request.

(d) Duration of storage
The data is stored as long as it necessary to conclusively respond to your request. If the correspondence contains any business letters that must be preserved due to commercial or tax laws, such letters will be stored according to the statutory preservation periods.

(e) Objection and removal possibility
You have the right to object to the processing of the data at any time. Such objection can be declared via e-mail to info@documentary-campus.com. In case statutory preservation periods apply, the respective data can not be deleted, but will be blocked for any other use. In case of an objection, the conversation can not be continued.

**Member profile & presentation of projects on our website **

(a) Scope of data collection
Our website among others serves as a platform to present documentary projects. To be able to present these projects of our different training offers we create a specific member profile of the film maker in our database which we can connect to the specific projects of the respective member. To create such account we collect the following data from the respective applicant:

• first and last name, e-mail address, password, gender, country, if applicable, institution, year, which training program: Masterschool, Crossing Borders, Campus Latino, MENA (hereinafter referred to as “member profile data”),
• data regarding the project and its participants (hereinafter: “project data”), provided to describe the project and the people involved in its making, such as full name of the director, team and production company; the country and training programs

Project data is made public via our website.

The data is stored in the log files of our hosting provider, Host Europe. This data is not stored or processed together with other personal data of the user.

(b) Legal Basis
This data is processed by us on the basis of Art. 6 par. 1 (b) GDPR. We require the member data to provide you with a respective individual access to our website at your request as a step prior to entering into a member profile agreement with us. We require the processing of this data as well as the project data to perform such contract concluded with you.

Further, Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR is legal basis for the collection of the member profile data. It is a legitimate interest for us to identify you as an authorized member and to make sure that unauthorized third parties do not gain access to your profile or deceive us as rightful maker of the project.

The legal basis for the transfer of data to Host Europe is Art. 28 par. 3. A respective contract regarding the processing of data has been concluded with Host Europe.

(c) Purpose of data processing
Purpose of the data processing is to provide you with a individual access to our website, give you the opportunity to present projects on our website as well as to make sure that unauthorized access of third parties is prevented.

(d) Duration of storage
The data is stored as long as you are a member of us. Once your membership ends, your data will be deleted without undue delay.

(e) Objection and removal possibility
You may object to the processing of data by sending a respective e-mail to info@documentary-campus.com. Please note that the processing of this data is necessary for providing the mentioned services to you. If you object to such processing, the contract concluded with us, hence your membership, ends.

To enable to play function of the videos on our website, we have embedded them in our website with a function provided by YouTube. While doing so, we have chosen the so called „privacy-enhanced mode“, a function provided by YouTube to increase data privacy . By embedding the videos YouTube is enabled to collect data. Due to the fact that the collection is exclusively conducted by YouTube, we refer to the privacy policy of YouTube for further information on the scope of the collection, available here

(b) Legal Basis
Legal basis for the processing of data collected by the embedding of YouTube videos is Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR. The audio-visual presentation of the material shown in the embedded videos on our own website is of high importance to us, because it enables us a understandable and attractive portrayal of our individual profile and the quality of our services for third parties. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 par. 1 (f) GDPR for us.

(c) Purpose of data processing
The purpose of enabling the collection of data by YouTube is to use the play function of the embedded videos on our own website due to our legitimate interest stated above. In regards to the purpose of the data collection by YouTube we refer to YouTube’s privacy policy, available here

(d) Duration of storage
We do not store any data but only integrate a script that transfers information to YouTube directly. For information on the duration of storage by YouTube, please view its privacy policy

(e) Objection and removal possibility

Google Analytics

(a) Scope of data processing
The websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). This software collects information about how you use the website and compiles various statistics. The increased usage data include in particular the concrete selection of links, the length of stay on individual pages and the order of use of the website, the frequency of the page request. This data is collected together with your IP address. The IP address provided by Google Analytics as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

The legal basis for the transfer of data to Google are Article 28 par. 3, and Article 45 par. 3 GDPR. The service provider is certified under the Privacy Shield Framework and is therefore subject to the EU Commission's decision on adequacy (Implementing Decision 2016/1250), this means that the data protection level of the service provider is recognized as being equivalent to the GDPR, although it is based in the USA.

The purpose of the processing is to analyze this website and the usage behavior of its visitors.

(d) Duration of storage
The data is already anonymized directly after the survey. Personal data is therefore collected only in the context of the transfer and not permanently stored.
