Find Your Audience - The Online Pitching Experiment

Documentary Campus is breaking new grounds with: Find Your Audience - The Online Pitching Experiment

Documentary Campus invites you to join “The Online Pitching Experiment”. On 8 October 2018, three projects currently in development at the Documentary Campus Masterschool will release a public version of their pitches and trailers online. We offer the audience joining this experiment a unique look behind the scenes and a direct contact to the creators and producers during the development stage of the film. Instead of a Q&A after the Screening you have the opportunity for an “Ask me Anything”-Session before the documentary is even finished.

The Experiment - The Timeline:

On Monday, 8 October: Three projects in development from this year’s Masterschool will release a public version of their pitches and trailers online on our “DC Masterschool Pitch-Channel” on YouTube. The video content will be online for two days.

On Wednesday, 10 October at 6pm CET: The creators will participate in a joint “Ask me Anything”-Session on Reddit (the 3rd most visited site in the US), connecting directly with the general public and anyone interested in the topics, filmmaking in general or any other aspect that brought them to the session. Thus opening up their projects to a general audience which can participate either as an active part or merely as an observer.

Our Goal: We offer the audience participating to engage at the stage of development of a documentary and join a frank discussion directly with the creators and producers. What we will gain with this experiment is an understanding of what potential audiences think about the projects and any related matters they touch. In return we will achieve valuable contacts, new aspects to be incorporated in the projects as they unfold - or even a proof of concept.

Please keep your eyes peeled - Documentary Campus will update you here with further links as the "Ask me Anything"-Session nears.

The DC Masterschool Pitch Channel on YouTube can be found here. The video content will be online from 8-10 October 2018.
