Amal wins Youth Jury Prize @Sheffield Doc/Fest

We are happy to announce that Amal by Mohamed Siam (MENA Program 2014) is amongst the award winners of the 25th edition of Sheffield Doc/Fest.

About the film: In Amal, Egyptian director Mohamed Siam follows an Egyptian teenager during the Egyptian revolution, when she is fourteen years until, and during its long aftermath with resonates until today. Panning through 6 years, we see how the fierce and undaunted girl searches for her identity in a country in transition. But, as a young woman among men, she has to fight to survive and to find her own place in the streets and in all other areas of life.
