The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture: Documentary Program
Institution: The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture
The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) was established in 2007 by local cultural lobbyists as an independent initiative that funds individuals and organizations in the fields of cinema, performing arts, literature, music and visual arts while facilitating cultural exchange, research and cooperation across the Arab world and globally.
The AFAC Documentary Program (ADP), a special program of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, is organized with the support of Ford Foundation's JustFilms program.
Who can apply
ADP funds and supports creative documentary projects from the Arab region. It runs for a period of three-years and welcomes feature-length, medium-length and short documentary projects, in production and post-production, that address the social realities in the Arab region in creative and compelling ways.
Around 15 documentary projects are supported with a maximum grant amount of $50,000 per film. The selected projects are given both financial as well as professional support by advisors and experts. Winning projects benefit from networking opportunities that bring their directors and producers into the market, the circuit of international film festivals as well as other fellow filmmakers and industry professionals.
