Marketplace Masters Pitch 2018 - An Open Training Session in partnership with DOK.fest Munich
For the third time DOK.fest Munich in partnership with Documentary Campus presents this successful pitch format. At the 'Marketplace Masters Pitch', within the DOK.forum Marketplace, the strongest international projects get introduced and a platform for exchange and collaboration is created.
Moderated by the renowned Belgian film consultant Peter Jaeger (founder of Jaeger Creative), 10 film projects, with an international potential, will be presented on stage. Additionally to six proposals from the DOK.forum Marketplace, we also present four projects from our Latin American guest delegation. These projects were developed as part of the training programme Campus Latino, a collaboration of Documentary Campus and the Goethe-Institut Mexico.
The pitches are intertwined with keynotes and feedback on the presented projects by an international jury (producers, commissioning editors, distributors). The aim is to make the decision-making process transparent to the pitch teams and the audience. Under the topic DOCUMENTARIES IN THE DIGITAL WORLD. A NEW ERA OF TV & VOD DISTRIBUTION Peter Jaeger will ask: What is the current state of affairs for creative documentaries after the first digital revolution has settled. What has changed irreversibly for producers, filmmakers, distributors and broadcasters since Netflix, Amazon and other VoD-platforms are clearly here to stay. We look at the changes for the different rights, for the territories worldwide, for the creative content, for the distribution & financing strategies.
We will kick-off the dynamic day with a case study of THE CLEANERS by beetz brothers film productions which premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2018. Executive producer Georg Tschurtschenthaler will talk about the unusual financing strategy and the expectations regarding the sales and distribution strategy ‘before & after Sundance’.
The ‘Marketplace Masters Pitch’ brings together the most renowned industry guests and makes the strongest projects of the DOK.forum Marketplace visible and accessible to industry visitors. We invite all participants to discover new ideas, discuss the latest developments of the market and learn from each other.
